About Us

I have always been obsessed with a great tan! Growing up, I was active in sports and had an easy time keeping a nice color year-round. In college, I was that girl who would gather my roommates on a nice day to go and grab some rays in between classes. After graduating from the University of Delaware with an International Relations degree, I spent 4 years in Delaware before moving to Southern California. California weather, I quickly learned, was simply perfect for staying bronzed. But, as life got busy with a full-time career and daughter (Lillian), I found myself in need of a quick fix once in a while.

Indoor tanning seemed like a foreign concept and I certainly wasn’t going to lay in a tanning bed, so I tried my first spray tan and fell in love. Upon moving to Austin in 2015, I was looking for a place to airbrush and was completely underwhelmed with the choices, so I decided to open my own. And, with the hair removal industry in such an upswing, it seemed like the perfect complement to the menu. While sugaring has been around for ages, in fact, it has ancient Egyptian roots, it felt so perfect for the modern, organic way of life that Austinites gravitate towards. At The Sugar Society, we know an airbrush tan can be the best pick me up! If you are new to sugaring and nervous about your first appointment, or, simply don’t feel like chatting today? Don’t worry, we got your back. Our treatment rooms have Netflix so you can kick back and watch your favorite episode of Gossip Girls while your Sugarista does her thing! After our clients check out, it’s not over. We will always follow up the next day to make sure everything turned out perfectly!
